Skills provider to continue delivering apprenticeships for West Midlands Ambulance Service
A skills provider has received approval to continue delivering apprenticeships for West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Performance Through People (PTP) will provide 32 healthcare support worker apprenticeships to aid in recruiting patient transport service staff.
PTP offers a wide range of accredited apprenticeship courses, commercial programs, and various government-funded schemes tailored to customers’ needs, from SMEs to major national brands.
The company has delivered 440 apprenticeships to West Midlands Ambulance Service over the past 13 years, including programs in customer service, management, business administration, IT, health and social care, and healthcare support services.
The apprenticeships will cover topics such as monitoring health and wellbeing, promoting independence, communication, recording and reporting information, health and safety, and personal skill and knowledge development.
Performance Through People operations manager, Julie Heathcote said: “We have worked with West Midlands Ambulance Service for many years and have formed a great working relationship with the service. We have worked together to develop the delivery model for the apprentices and regularly review this and update the model as the service requires. We have come to understand the service well which enables our team of tutors to work well with both apprentices and their line managers.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service director of people, Carla Beechey, said: “Performance Through People provides the Service with an excellent programme for our apprentices. Over the years they have learned vital skills and the competencies needed to embark on a career with us and it’s great to see the journey they go on. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with PTP and look forward to welcoming the next cohort of apprentices to the service.”
