Law firm advises historic car dealers latest acquisition

The corporate team at Wilkes, a law firm in the West Midlands, has advised Sports Purpose on the acquisition of Sporting & Historic Car Engineers, a historic racing specialist.

Sports Purpose received guidance from Jeremy Parkin a consultant at Wilkes Corporate, with assistance provided by Matt Workman a paralegal, and Leighann Richards from the Wilkes real estate team.

The acquisition will enable Sports Purpose to broaden its expertise into the historic racing car segment, complementing its existing business in serving the specialist Porsche market.

Established in 1989 by Tim Samways, Sporting & Historic Car Engineers has earned achievements including the first win by a Ferrari at the esteemed Goodwood Revival RAC Tourist Trophy race in 2007.

Although Tim Samways is retiring, he will maintain a role with the company as a consultant engineer, contributing to the projects he has initiated over the years.

James Turner, founder of Sports Purpose, said: “I have known Jeremy Parkin since we first worked together over a decade ago. He has been an invaluable advisor as we have grown Sports Purpose. While his legal counsel is excellent, I regard Jeremy as a trusted consigliere, providing reliable wisdom and guidance on our corporate matters. It’s a pleasure working with Jeremy and his team at Wilkes.”
