SevenHomes the regional housebuilder by SeverCapitalGroup has appointed Richard Hodson as planning director.

Hodson previously joined the business’ planning team in 2022 and has since played a role in developing and delivering SevenHomes’ full planning strategy, from the acquisition of new sites amassing to a pipeline of nearly 3,000 homes.

In his new role as planning director, Hodson will lead the planning function across all SevenHomes’ operating regions, whilst bolstering the wider team’s work in identifying and securing new opportunities.

He said: “I am delighted with the promotion to Planning Director at SevenHomes. The business prides itself on the ability to identify land with good prospects for the provision of new homes and amenities and add significant value through the planning and subsequent build process. I look forward to further developing our planning capabilities as we push ahead with both current and future projects.”

Affordable housing specialist Living Space Housing has appointed Joe Gilday as senior land manager to target further site acquisitions in the West Midlands region. 

The Solihull-based business currently has seven live sites across Bedfordshire, Herefordshire, West Midlands, Wiltshire and Worcestershire with a gross development value of more than £90m.

Gilday was previously at Seven Homes, where he was a land manager and before that, a development acquisition manager at Quinta Group.  With over six years of industry experience, he specialises in assessing a site’s feasibility for development, compiling bids, negotiating deals and guiding purchases through the legal process.

 He will work alongside colleagues in the land and planning team at Living Space to manage projects, including the planning and design stage, to achieve deliverable planning permissions for clients.
