Car park site to become 13-storey student accommodation block

A car park site on Granville Street and Tennant Street is set to be transformed into a new 13-storey student accommodation development named “Base.”

The project will feature 216 student studio apartments, providing a variety of living spaces for students.

In addition to the studio apartments, the development will offer amenities spread across the ground and mezzanine levels. The facilities will include a games room, workspaces, event spaces, dining areas, a cinema, and a gym.

This proposal effectively replaces The Lead Works aparthotel project from the same project team—Soller Group, Glancy Nicholls, PJ Planning —which was approved in July 2022.
