‘Booze and ball games’ operator to open new Coventry site
The owner of Roxy Ball Room is launching a family-focused brand, Star Pins, with the first site planned for Coventry.
The 32,000 sq ft venue is scheduled to open in November, with the group’s customary mix of ten-pin bowling, mini golf, darts, shuffleboard, ice-free curling, American pool, shooting and ping pong.
Roxy Leisure Holdings is positioning itself for growth with a rebrand and a strengthened management team of the “competitive socialising” group.
It’s changing the name of the group to Professionals at Play. This will sit above its operating companies Roxy Leisure and Pins Leisure.
The group’s ethos is “booze and ball games” and now operates 21 sites in 12 cities from Edinburgh to Bristol, 11 years after launching its first venue in Leeds.
It is planning to open sites in Bristol, Glasgow, Belfast, Leeds and London in the next year.
Chief executive Matt Jones said: “We are really proud of our growth so far, and see the launch of Professionals At Play as the next step in this journey.
“We have a hugely talented team who are instrumental in creating, rolling out and running our concepts. Our new parent company name gives our brands a clear home along with a base for creating more exciting offers and concepts.”
The rebrand to Professionals at Play has also been bolstered with a management restructure. Colin Sadler, who had been managing director of Pins Leisure, becomes the group’s chief operating officer.
Further group-wide appointments sees Ben Warren become commercial director, Adam Lazenby step up as head of people operations and Joel Mitchell take on the role of marketing director.
