Acquisition to boost grid services for energy storage manufacturer

GivEnergy, an energy storage manufacturer based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, has acquired Orange Power, an energy aggregator.
Orange Power focuses on managing energy savings from battery assets across the country during times of grid stress.
By integrating Orange Power’s platform, GivEnergy hopes to improve its services and help commercial battery owners access new revenue opportunities, supporting businesses in their decarbonisation efforts.
The partnership will not only create new revenue streams but also provide ongoing returns on energy storage investments.
GivEnergy specialises in battery energy storage systems (BESS) that turn underused assets into a connected energy network. Commercial and fleet partners using GivEnergy’s BESS can contribute clean energy to the grid and receive financial rewards for their efforts.
Jason Howlett, Global CEO at GivEnergy, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Orange Power team into the GivEnergy family. The acquisition aligns perfectly with our goal of cleaning up the UK’s energy landscape, particularly as it pertains to Smart Energy Devices and their role in supporting and stabilising grid infrastructure.
“We’re also proud to be able to incentivise energy storage uptake by boosting the ROI of battery installation and maximising value for customers. With Orange Power’s expertise in energy aggregation, we can help our customers unlock the full potential of their assets via access to the rapidly growing grid services market.”
