Global food manufacturer expands with saucy acquisition

Sauce manufacturer Panesar Foods has been acquired by global food and beverage company, Paulig.

Tipton-based Panesar Foods will strengthen Paulig’s position in world foods, with its expertise in sauces, salsas, condiments, marinades, and dips.

Founded in 1992, the family-owned manufacturer started with just four products and has now grown to reach revenues of £59m, has a range of more than 750 products and employs 308 staff across its three production facilities in Tipton.

All staff will join Paulig’s 2,200 workforce operating across 13 countries. Founded in 1876 by the Paulig family, the Tex-Mex food market leader has products sold in 70 countries across the world. Brands including Paulig, Santa Maria, Risenta, Poco Loco and Zanuy boosted company sales to €1.2bn in 2023.
