Refurbishment underway at Birmingham city centre office building

A 70,000 sq ft office building at 35 Newhall Street in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District is set for a major refurbishment.

After a £10m refurbishment, Estilo Interiors has been appointed as the principal contractor for the project, which will include a new roof terrace, sky lounge and a complete overhaul of both the interior and exterior.

The six-storey building comprises 53,281 sq ft of office accommodation, with flexible floorplates of 9,000 sq ft.

The building’s façade will be updated with cladding and some materials will be reused to reduce carbon emissions.

The retrofit will also include six electric vehicle charging points and a 44-space cycle hub, complete with lockers and changing facilities.

Knight Frank and Savills have also been appointed as leasing agents.

Andrew Moore, founder & managing director of Estilo Interiors, said: “We are delighted to spearhead the refurbishment of 35 Newhall Street. This project represents a significant step in our ongoing commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable office spaces that meet the evolving needs of today’s businesses. Having recently completed the full refurbishment and interior build of The Billiards Building at 134 Edmund Street, Estilo Interiors has secured its position as the leading contractor for the Birmingham commercial market.”

Ben Thacker, office agency director at Savills said: “On track for completion next summer, 35 Newhall Street will be delivering a new opportunity that is precisely aligned to the scale, location and quality of workspace that occupiers are seeking in an office market with increasingly limited availability.”
