Cure Leukaemia, a Birmingham-based charity, has announced the appointment of Bhupinder Dhillon as its new business development manager.

In this role, Dhillon will focus on engaging businesses across the country through the charity’s Club 10 initiative, aimed at supporting the funding of the ATICUS network—a world-first paediatric transplant trials network.

The ATICUS Network (Accelerating Trials in Children Undergoing Stem Cell Transplant), a pioneering collaboration between 11 leading UK Children’s Hospitals to revolutionise clinical trial access for children battling blood cancer, is poised to revolutionise the treatment landscape for children and their families affected by blood cancer.

It will expand access to pioneering clinical trials, offering hope and the potential for life-saving treatments.

Dhillon said: “I am thrilled to be joining Cure Leukaemia and contributing to the vital work of supporting children and families affected by blood cancer. The ATICUS network represents an incredible opportunity to transform outcomes for young patients, and I look forward to working closely with organisations nationwide to secure the funding needed to make this vision a reality. The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has announced the appointment of Anna Sedgley to its Board of Trustees, pending approval at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Sedgley, whose career includes roles as chief financial officer at Bauer Media Group and chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Dow Jones, brings extensive expertise in finance, operations and corporate strategy within the media and business intelligence industries.

She will also join the RSC’s Risk, Audit and Finance Committee as part of its succession planning.

Sedgley’s career has focused on driving technological advancements to create value for customers and improve business processes.

She is currently a non-executive board member and chair of the audit committee at FiscalNote, serves on the board of the global vaccine alliance GAVI, and is a trustee for the Army Benevolent Fund.

Additionally, she supports Happy Doggo, a charity working to alleviate the suffering of street dogs in Thailand.

Sedgley holds a degree from the University of Adelaide, is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Sedgley said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the RSC Board of Trustees and its Risk Audit and Finance Committee. I look forward to collaborating with fellow trustees and the entire RSC community to inspire future generations through the transformative power of Shakespeare’s work and the arts.”

Richborough has appointed a residential development expert to head up a brand-new department.

Matt Parry MRTPI is the firm’s new planning delivery director, joining from Redrow, where he was strategic land and planning director for the South Midlands.

Parry will lead Richborough’s new planning delivery function, which will manage its increasing number of residential planning applications from submission through to determination.

He is supported by Briony Stenhouse and Grace Sadler, who have both been internally promoted to the role of planning delivery manager.
