People: Burns & McDonnell; adi Group; ARB Truckman

Global engineering and construction firm Burns & McDonnell has appointed Kyle Roberts as the new executive managing director for the UK.

Roberts has worked for Burns & McDonnell for 20 years, beginning his career as a civil engineer in the aviation and federal markets, and eventually moving into project management, resource management and business director roles.

His experience includes campus and airport master planning, site development, and civil and site engineering design of pavements, utilities, and drainage elements.

Roberts has been recognised for his contributions to the civil engineering industry, including being named a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), an honour that highlights outstanding achievements and dedication to the profession.

From 2022, Roberts served as the international programs director for Burns & McDonnell’s Commercial Aviation and Defence sectors, leading them to a strong recovery after the pandemic.

His international experience includes projects in more than 20 countries, including much of the Middle East, Europe, and the UK.

Roberts said: “The U.K. engineering and construction sector is an exciting place to invest, and I’m eager to build on the strong foundation established since our 2017 launch. By focusing on key opportunities, strengthening recruitment, onboarding, and training, and leveraging our experience in industries like transmission, aviation, defence, and water, I look forward to further enhancing our ability to deliver for our clients and become a major partner and investor across a number of industries in the U.K.”

Multidisciplinary engineering firm adi Group has announced the appointment of Alex Rudzinski as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

Rudzinski brings over 25 years of experience in both corporate and private equity-backed businesses, where he has played a pivotal role in supporting business growth, enhancing financial performance, and introducing strategic financial insight.

Before joining the Group, he held senior financial roles within entrepreneurial and growth-focused businesses across a range of sectors, honing his expertise in managing complex financial structures and supporting business expansion.

As CFO, his responsibilities will focus on strengthening the Group’s financial controls, overseeing accounting functions, and ensuring the business is positioned for long-term success.

This includes providing timely, actionable data that supports each of adi’s 17 businesses, and providing forward-leaning insight to the executive to allow them to make the very best decisions.

ARB Truckman has promoted Jon Wood to warehouse and logistics manager.

In his new role, Wood, who has been with ARB Truckman for ten years, will oversee the entire warehouse and logistics operations at the company’s Dudley headquarters.

From this location, ARB Truckman distributes an extensive range of 4×4 and pick-up accessories to customers and retailers nationwide. His promotion follows his successful tenure as warehouse team leader.
