Winners revealed at the West Midlands Business of the Year Awards 2025

Steve Rigby, co-CEO of the Rigby Group was named the West Midlands Ambassador at the Business of the Year Awards tonight.

He was recognised for his entrepreneurial and philanthropic work over the last 30 years. Rigby transitioned the family business to generate £3.9bn revenue with 9,000 staff, becoming a top ten wholly-owned UK family business and in the top 500 globally.

It’s spearheading major projects such as the West Midlands Gigafactory, supporting rising tech leaders with a wealth of investment, all whilst supporting local and national charities and young people.

This week, he announced a £3m commitment to help raise the aspirations of disadvantaged young people in Birmingham.

The West Midlands Business of the Year Awards were supported by Headpoint Advisors, MHA and Rhino Interiors.

An audience at the Macdonald Burlington in Birmingham also heard from Joe Fraser, Olympic athlete, and were able to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The winners and shortlist – derived from almost 150 entries – was judged by Eleanor Deeley, managing director of Deeley Group, Tony Hague, CEO of PP Control & Automation, Darcy Laceby, co-founder and chief people & product officer of Absolute Collagen, Paul Faulkner, co-founder of Element45 and Nikki Paterson, regional director of the Midlands at the CBI.

Anna Cooper, editor for the West Midlands at TheBusinessDesk said: “A huge congratulations to all of our winners and shortlisted companies.

“It’s been great to get to know your businesses through that process and really understand what has been achieved and what your ambitions are for the future.

“We are all looking forward to watching your progress in the months and years ahead.”
