Japanese fashion giant threads its way to Birmingham

Japanese fashion giant UNIQLO is set to make its Midlands debut with a new flagship store in Birmingham’s Bullring.

The 20,000 sq ft store, spanning three floors with 11,840 sq ft of trading space, will offer the brand’s full range of womenswear, menswear, kidswear, and its LifeWear collections.

Hammerson, the owner of the Bullring, secured the deal as part of UNIQLO’s expansion beyond London.

Paul O’Brien, director of Leasing & Commercialisation at Hammerson said: “Bullring continues to attract best-in-class global brands seeking a flagship presence in the region, reinforcing its position as the leading Midlands destination. UNIQLO is the latest brand to make a significant commitment to Bullring, reflecting the strength of our position, quality of the asset, and an exceptional line-up of leading names in retail.”

Alessandro Dudech, COO of UNIQLO UK said: “UNIQLO continues to invest in the UK retail landscape, growing our footprint and e-commerce across the nation. Bringing the brand to the Midlands for the first time is a key strategic step for us, and Bullring’s prominent position in the UK’s second city made for the ideal location.”
