Ash & Lacy, the Birmingham-based manufacturer, has bought Vestatec, the Nottingham provider of decorative automotive interior parts.

Vestatec is renowned for its Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating technology which enables the production of durable, high-performance coatings like diamond-like-carbon.

The high-end speaker grills and interior components have been essential to the success of numerous luxury and sports car manufacturers.

The merged firms say they will now be able to offer an even broader selection of coated and machined parts, such as buttons, handles and switches.

Dr Jonathan Evans, CEO of Ash & Lacy, said: “This acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies. Bringing together Ash & Lacy and Vestatec creates Europe’s leading specialist in both interior and exterior decorative metal components. With unrivalled in-house capabilities in machining, pressing, perforating, expanding, and coating, we are now able to offer our clients even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.

“From the outset, it was clear that Ash & Lacy and Vestatec share a similar philosophy—both companies are family-owned and have a long-term view on growth and a deep passion for UK manufacturing. I look forward to working closely with our new colleagues as we navigate this rapidly evolving, technically challenging sector and continue to deliver incredible parts and technologies for the next generation of beautiful vehicles.”
