Cosmetic repair company kickstarts recruitment drive

A cosmetic repair and sealants firm is looking to expand its workforce in the West Midlands to take advantage of its skilled workforce.

SD Team is currently recruiting for 40 new employees across its repairs and sealant services, with a number of jobs providing opportunities for worldwide travel.

The business primarily works with the housebuilding, insurance and commercial sectors, including healthcare and NHS facilities, hospitality, education, retail and catering premises. It also provides cosmetic repair and interior services for the marine sector, working on cruise ships around the globe.

SD has been involved in a number of significant local projects in recent months, including the University of Worcester’s new Severn Campus and the Powell House retirement village in Sutton Coldfield.

Launched in 1973, the company originated as a family-run business in Somerset that specialised in the supply and application of sealant. Since then, SD has grown to have eight offices across England, Scotland and Wales.

Nick Jones, managing director for the SD Group of companies said: “SD is an ambitious company, and the West Midlands has proved to be one of our most promising areas for expansion so we’re really looking forward to welcoming some new faces.

“This is set to be an exciting year for the company, we’ve recently moved into newer, larger headquarters and have been fortunate enough to work on some fantastic projects already in 2025.

“And we know that to keep up with demand, we need to have a strong, skilled workforce in place – I’ve always been incredibly proud of the talent we hold at SD, and I know that there are a great number of skilled workers in the West Midlands who need an opportunity to show what they can do, so we’re delighted to be hiring for a number of new team members in the region.

“We’re primarily looking for candidates with cosmetic repairs experience, but a number of our longest serving employees have learned everything they know on the job with us and we do provide excellent training, so for those who think they might have the right work ethic and drive we would still encourage you to apply.”
