Begbies Traynor Group has appointed Nick West as a partner to advise businesses across Shropshire and Mid-Wales, enhancing its insolvency services in the Midlands.

West brings almost two decades of experience as a licensed insolvency practitioner supporting businesses across the region in retail, agriculture, manufacturing, pubs, hotels and charities.

He joins from the consultancy he launched in 2020, West Advisory.

At his firm, he spearheaded four years of consistent growth delivering a full range of insolvency services, in addition to advice for directors on strategic decisions.

Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax has announced the promotion of Nick Wright to head of corporate tax.

Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax offers expert guidance on corporate tax matters, including management buyouts (MBOs), demergers, sales to Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs), and employment-related securities and share schemes.

Wright has been with Jerroms Miller since it was formed in 2022 and will be responsible for leading the team and continuing to build its reputation both for excellent tax advice and for interesting and informative tax information online.

Along with presenting regular webinars and seminars, Wright is also the host of the ‘Tax Hour’ podcast, discussing various tax issues with industry experts.

Wright takes over from Pete Miller, co-founder of Jerroms Miller.

He said: “I am looking forward to leading the team and driving our strategic initiatives. We have a fantastic, dynamic and growing team, and with Pete’s continued technical support, I look forward to continuing to build a reputation for providing expert tax advisory services to our diverse client base.”

He said: “The time was right to pass on the mantle to Nick. It has been a pleasure to lead the team for the last three years and I am excited to see Nick take it to the next level.”

 

Persimmon Homes has strengthened its team with the promotion of a senior site manager to contracts manager.

Dan Mills has been with Persimmon since 2019, joining as an assistant site manager in the company’s South Midlands team, located in Studley.

The promotion follows Dan’s wins in the NHBC Seal of Excellence awards in 2024 and a win in the Persimmon Construction Excellence Award in 2022.

Mills was also the winner of three NHBC Pride in the Job awards throughout his career, one of the most highly regarded competitions in the industry and a prestigious benchmark for exceptional site managers.

In his new role, he will provide overall direction to multiple sites in the region, overseeing the progress of construction work, supervising site managers and leading on snagging, while ensuring quality and health and safety standards are met.

Mills said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have been promoted to Contracts Manager, and for my hard work to have been recognised in this way. Over the last six years, my role has evolved and with it, new and exciting opportunities have presented themselves. Most importantly, I’m so grateful for the team at Persimmon who have supported me throughout my career.”
