RSM announces trio of senior promotions to drive regional growth

Chas Ruprai, Helen Brocklebank, Chris Alderman and Elaine Shiels

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has announced three key promotions to drive organic growth in the Midlands and complement the firm’s wider growth strategy.

Chris Alderman has been promoted to corporate tax partner, Chas Ruprai has been promoted to director in consulting, and Elaine Shiels is now regional head of tax in the Midlands.

Based in Birmingham, Chris joined RSM as a tax assistant in 2005 and has since progressed through the ranks to partner over the past 20 years. He has extensive experience in providing expert corporate tax advice to companies and works across a wide range of industries, particularly advising on innovation reliefs for the manufacturing sector.

Chris Alderman, corporate tax partner at RSM UK, said: “I’m proud to reach this milestone in my career with RSM and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our corporate tax offering in Birmingham. With many recent legislative changes to innovation reliefs creating uncertainty for businesses, I’m keen to help them navigate their way through this period of change and drive their businesses forward successfully.”

Elaine Shiels joined RSM seven years ago to lead the Birmingham private client tax practice. She is a private client tax partner with over 30 years’ experience in advising high net worth individuals and their families as well as company directors and entrepreneurs. As regional head of tax, Elaine’s focus will be on growing RSM’s tax offering for clients in the Midlands region and ensuring they are able to benefit from RSM’s wider offering beyond tax.

Chas Ruprai joined RSM six years ago as a due diligence specialist within consulting. Based in Birmingham, he leads our national deal services expertise across the fire and security industry.

Helen Brocklebank, regional managing partner for RSM in the Midlands, added: “I’m thrilled to see Elaine, Chris and Chas achieve these senior promotions; they are shining examples of RSM’s commitment to growing and developing exceptional talent from within our own ranks. They will play integral roles in supporting our clients in Birmingham and throughout the Midlands, and they will help develop what is shaping up to be a really exciting year, and long-term future for our firm.”
