Independent vet group unleashes new practice in Stoke

Independent veterinary group Harrison Family Vets has opened a clinic in Longton, Stoke, following a £500,000 investment.
Situated on Anchor Road Retail Park, the new practice blends medical facilities with design touches aimed at creating a calm, low-stress environment for pets.
The waiting area features individual pet pods, raised platforms for cat carriers, soft lighting, white noise, and pet-calming scents.
Separate dog and cat wards are fitted with Casco Wellpet kennels, offering heating pads, mood lighting, and music therapy to support relaxation.
The clinic also houses four consulting rooms, a dental suite with X-ray capabilities, a fully equipped operating theatre, and an ultrasonography unit.
Tim Harrison said: “We are pushing the boundaries when it comes to delivering the very best five-star experience for pets visiting our practices. Every pet receives VIP treatment from the moment they arrive. With a pre-visit questionnaire that helps to understand pets’ likes and dislikes when visiting the vet, we ensure they receive a warm and personalised welcome.”
To mark the launch, the practice is offering a £15 vaccination promotion and waiving the usual £15 sign-up fee for its Total Wellness Plan for three months.
The plan includes regular health checks, blood and urine screening, parasite prevention, and discounts on dental care, neutering, and premium pet food.
Staff are undergoing Fear Free Accreditation training to help minimise anxiety for animals during visits—a standard already achieved by several of the group’s other practices.
The new Stoke location is the eighth for Harrison Family Vets, which continues to grow as a family-run alternative to corporately owned veterinary chains.
Matt Humphrey clinic director said: “This is a true wellness plan, so whilst indeed saving money on routine preventative care, it also focuses on keeping much loved pets healthy and happy for as long as possible. The Total Wellness Plan includes unlimited free vet consultations, a full nose-to-tail MOT with blood and urine wellness screens included as well as yearly vaccinations, preventative parasiticide treatments, discounts on dental care, neutering and premium pet food plus much more.”
