Haulage company drives growth with move to larger base

Haulage company Beacon Roadways has relocated to a site nine times the size of its previous base as it continues to expand operations in Stourbridge.
Spanning 36,000 sq ft, the new premises replaces the company’s former 4,000 sq ft site, which it had outgrown due to rising demand.
The larger space provides upgraded offices, a bigger yard for its fleet, and introduces warehousing and storage to the business for the first time.
With 33,000 sq ft now dedicated to storage, the haulage firm has added a new dimension to its services to improve its palletised freight and general haulage offering.
Established over 48 years ago, Beacon Roadways also plans to expand its fleet further in the coming months.
Emma Pain, managing director of Beacon Roadways said: “Our site expansion has perfectly aligned at a time of huge growth for the company, with the team seeing increased volumes alongside a number of new initiatives, showcasing this fantastic new era of Beacon Roadways. We are committed to providing the same outstanding services the business is known for on a far bigger scale and to a wider audience.
“With a recent investment into pallet racking, a brand new website, further service offerings for European and International distribution, and the introduction of enhanced IT systems, the business has seen significant developments over the past year, and I am looking forward to seeing Beacon Roadways continue to grow and expand.
“I feel extremely proud to be leading my team in the logistics industry as we continue to develop, especially as a young female Managing Director with many senior female members of staff and drivers, in an industry that is often considered to be male-dominated.”
Its recent move to join the Pall-Ex network as a shareholder member has helped boost its profile and widen its distribution reach.
Rebecca Wayte, network director – North at Pall-Ex Group said: “Beacon Roadways is a progressive business that has seen fantastic growth in recent years, despite the challenges the industry has been facing. Moving to a significantly larger site will continue to facilitate their expansion. It is an impressive and exciting milestone, and we’re delighted that the shareholder membership with Pall-Ex has had a positive impact on their journey.”
