Birmingham contractor appointed to deliver energy storage project
Birmingham-based contractor Hedigan Construction has been appointed to support the delivery of a new multi-million-pound battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Caterham, Surrey.
The scheme is being developed by Root-Power, a specialist in BESS projects and part of YLEM Energy Group, and is scheduled to begin construction later this year.
Once complete, the 12MW facility will help balance supply and demand on the electricity network and support grid stability during peak periods.
