Tipton’s town centre transformed as McPhillips completes £1m scheme

Contractor McPhillips has completed a near £1m public realm scheme on Owen Street in Tipton, the first phase of a wider regeneration project backed by £20m of government funding.

The works, delivered for Sandwell Council under the Black Country Highways Works Framework, included a new 20mph speed zone, raised pedestrian crossings, improved footways, new paving and street lighting, and better pedestrian connectivity across one of the town centre's busiest shopping areas.
