£20m Shropshire housing scheme takes shape
More than half of the homes at a £20m residential development on the outskirts of Shrewsbury have now been occupied.
Cameron Homes is delivering 62 houses and bungalows across 6.9 acres at Willow Rise in the village of Bomere Heath.
The development, off Shrewsbury Road, includes two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, as well as two-bedroom bungalows. Prices for three- and four-bedroom properties range from £315,000 to £620,000, while bungalows are available from £360,000.
Stamp Duty contributions and other incentives worth up to £21,500 are also available on selected properties.
Sarah Sargeant, sales director for the five-star HBF housebuilder said: “Over half of the homes are now occupied at Willow Rise, so there’s already the sense of community you would expect from living in an idyllic semi-rural location.
“The new view home we’ll be unveiling on the weekend of 5th and 6th September will enable potential purchasers to explore the quality and space of our three-bedroom Burley home. House hunters will be able to see for themselves that there’s such a difference to a traditional home because the layout and technology features have been designed with modern family living in mind.”
Accessibility is a key feature of the development, with more than half of the homes designed to meet M4(2) or M4(3) standards for accessible and adaptable housing.
The properties include features such as step-free access to entrance-level rooms, wider doorways and corridors and ground-floor living space.
Energy efficiency has also been built into the homes, with solar PV panels, electric vehicle charging points and Smart Hive thermostats included as standard. Battery storage is available as an optional upgrade.
The development has been designed to reflect the character of the surrounding area, with pitched roofs, overhanging eaves and casement windows used across the homes.
Alongside the housing, Willow Rise includes a children’s play area and four areas of public open space. Green buffer zones will help protect existing ecology and wildlife corridors, while native trees and shrubs have been planted and bat and bird boxes installed.
The homes are being built with private parking, including driveways and garages, while visitor spaces are spread across the development.
Cameron Homes is also offering a range of interior specifications, with fitted kitchens featuring integrated Bosch or Electrolux appliances and Porcelanosa tiles used in bathrooms, en-suites and cloakrooms.
Willow Rise is around a five-minute walk from Bomere Heath CE Primary School, village amenities and surrounding countryside. Shrewsbury town centre and railway station are approximately five miles away, while RAF Shawbury and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital are within a 15-minute drive.
Construction is continuing across the site, with a number of homes due to be completed over the coming months and the development expected to finish during 2027.
Established in 1994, Cameron Homes currently has more than 200 homes under construction across 11 live developments, with a future pipeline of around 1,000 additional homes.
