Ansons Law bucks industry trend as Dudley office grows fourfold
Ansons Law has expanded its Dudley office after growing its team from four to 16 people in its first 12 months, with a 17th hire due in November.
The Midlands law firm opened at Castle Court in October 2025, betting that Dudley needed a local firm with a physical base and real-life lawyers for clients to speak with, despite competitors closing branches and moving services online.
The firm started on the ground floor and has since taken on the second floor too, having cancelled earlier plans to sub-let it.
Martin de Ridder, managing director of Ansons Law, said: “When we opened in Dudley a year ago, we did it because we believed the town deserved a firm that would put down proper roots here.
“Growing from four to 16 people, with a 17th team member due to arrive in November and taking on the second floor in our first year, tells you how that bet has gone. We’ve hired local people at every stage of their careers, and that’s exactly how we want to keep growing.”
The firm has hired at every level in Dudley over the past year, from senior solicitors to newly qualified lawyers and trainees, with staff drawn from Dudley and the wider Black Country rather than relocated from elsewhere.
The Dudley office offers conveyancing, wills, probate, estate planning and family law services to individuals and businesses across the Black Country, and sits next to the new Metro line due to open this autumn, linking the town centre directly to Birmingham.
Ansons also has offices in Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield and Cannock.
