Digbeth’s Alfred Works named UK’s best food hall just six months after launch

Alfred Works, the food hall at Digbeth's Custard Factory, has been named Best Food Hall at the British Street Food Awards 2026, just six months after opening its doors.

Opened in February 2026, Alfred Works spans more than 17,500 sq ft of the historic Custard Factory site, comprising the food hall, a large courtyard, social gaming and a sandpit, alongside 18 kitchens run by independent chefs serving cuisines from around the world, including Korean street food, Malaysian and Caribbean dishes.
