Irwin & Co appointed to Shimla Pinks administration

BIRMINGHAM-based insolvency firm Irwin & Co has been appointed to oversee the administration of the parent company of the Shimla Pinks Indian restaurant in Manchester.

The restaurant is still trading while administrator Gerald Irwin explores options for the future of the business.

Mr Irwin blamed the insolvency on delays in moving the restaurant to new premises within the city’s Spinningfields development.

“There are a number of companies trading under the Shimla Pinks brand – this case relates only to Shimla Pinks (Spinningfields),” said Mr Irwin.

“The company planned to move to a new site on the nearby development but regrettably this has taken longer and cost more money than the directors had anticipated.

“The business is still open and trading and we are exploring the possible options, “ he added.

Mr Irwin said there had been several expressions of interest, but it was still “early days” in the process.

According to Companies House, two of the three directors of Shimla Pinks (Spinningfields) are listed as directors of Shimla Pinks (Leftbank) Ltd, which was incorporated last June and has its registered office at Dolefield, Crown Square, Manchester.
