Golf club completes £180,000 upgrade to facilities

A STAFFORDSHIRE golf club has completed the £180,000 refurbishment of its clubhouse.

The investment has created a modern new-look to Perton Park Golf Club’s function suite, members’ bar and shop.

Work to update and revamp the 20-year-old clubhouse, in Wrottesley Park Road, began in February this year.

The club is now aiming to maximise the investment by adding bookings for weddings, conferences, events and parties. The room includes modern mood lighting, which can be set to colour co-ordinate with wedding, anniversary or birthday party themes.

Mark Allen, club director, said: “The results are fabulous. We are very pleased with the new function room and the landscaped gardens which lead off it.

“With its own bar and fabulous chequered dance floor the new function room has everything.”

The upgrade is part of an investment at the 20-year-old club which has also seen its Pro Shop revamped and stocked with all the top golf brands.

“Our membership is increasing year on year,” said Mr Allen, “and our investment in the club is part of our commitment to provide great facilities for our members.

“But we also want to build on our reputation as a special venue for people looking to host events, weddings and conferences.”
