THE man who oversaw the ticketing operation for the Millennium Dome has been appointed general manager of The Ticket Factory, which runs the entire box office for the NEC Group.

Will Quekett has more than 30 years’ experience in ticketing, arts, leisure and tourism in the UK, Australia and Europe, having worked for Seatem (Europe), Galathea, TopTix and First Call. The Ticket Factory was launched in 2007 and is the official box office of the LG Arena, The NIA and The NEC in Birmingham as well as hundreds of events at venues across the UK.

Mr Quekett said: “I hope to continue to steer The Ticket Factory to be the UK’s leading box office, through cutting edge technology and first class service for customers and our clients. It is a very exciting time to be joining as we are moving towards selling two million tickets annually.”

The NEC Group’s MD of Arenas, Phil Mead said: “I am delighted to welcome Will to The Ticket Factory. His breadth of experience and first hand knowledge of ticketing technology systems, will be a major asset.

“The Ticket Factory is only two years old, but in this time we have made huge headway with a new improved, easy-to-navigate website, backed by a 24 hour service, offering customers round the clock support. I am confident that as General Manager, Will can propel The Ticket Factory into this new decade,” added Phil Mead.
