GKN reveals board changes diary

WORCESTERSHIRE engineering group GKN has announced today that new chief executive Nigel Stein will takeover the role as designate from October 1.

He will relinquish his current responsibilities as chief executive automotive before taking over the role full time from January 1.

Incumbent chief executive Sir Kevin Smith will progressively hand over group chief executive responsibilities to Mr Stein during the following three months.

On the same date, responsibility for GKN’s automotive business will be assumed by executive director Andrew Reynolds Smith who is currently responsible for powder metallurgy and land systems.

Marcus Bryson, currently in charge of aerospace at the Redditch-based plc, will assume responsibility for land systems, also as executive director.

Sir Kevin Smith said: “I am pleased to announce the above changes which will provide the executive leadership for the next stage of the company’s development.”
