Gateley advises on £2m consultancy buyout

THE Birmingham office of law firm Gateley has completed its second acquisition this year for Essex-based environmental support services group Silverdell.

The company has acquired Suffolk firm RDS Asbestos Management Consultants in a deal worth more than £2m plus working capital, which includes the conditional placing of shares.

The deal was led by Katie Silvester, a corporate partner in Gateley’s Birmingham team, and follows the acquisition earlier this year of AH Allen.

Silverdell acquired 100% of the share capital of the Hull-based asbestos management consultancy, merging the £1.2m turnover business into its Surrey-based consulting network Redhills.

Ms Silvester said: “The industry is underpinned by strong regulatory drivers as companies face ever-more stringent legal requirements to manage hazardous substances such as asbestos.

“Silverdell is broadening its services in all areas of specialist environmental support services and we were delighted to be able to work with them again as it strengthens its offering in this important sector.”
