Prisk keynote speaker at LEP’s inaugural conference

MARK Prisk, minister of state for business and enterprise, will be the keynote speaker at the first regional conference hosted by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

He will be joined at the event next month by John Edwards, global brand director of Land Rover.

The event is aiming to highlight to the local business community what progress the LEP has made since its formation last year and to hear more about its business priorities.

Chairman Denys Shortt, chief executive of Stratford-based DCS Europe, said: “Our LEP is business-led and its whole reason for existing is to break down the barriers to growth and to grow the economy for the benefit of the area.

“There is no way that will happen unless we are operating in a very relevant and practical way.

“We are delighted the Minister is attending to talk directly to the business community and our ability to communicate with SMEs and other businesses is key to our future.”

The event is being held on October 14 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
