Guitar Guitar rocks into Brum

MUSIC retailer Guitar Guitar has opened a new 4,000 sq ft store in Birmingham at one of the city’s most recent building developments.

The company, which sells high ticket music equipment, has signed a lease for 100 Hagley Road, a six storey property on the west approach to the city.

The property completed a £12m redevelopment last December, which included a Grade A specification and greatly improved environmental credentials.

The deal, arranged by Calthorpe Estates, follows the decision by Intellectual Property firm Barker Brettell to let four floors of office space, now just one retail unit remains at the new site.

“Birmingham has long been recognised as a key UK music centre, with many great bands and performers originating from the city,” said Steve Mills, manager of the new store.

“We are excited about this new venture and confident that the store will be a great success.”

The store is the fourth for Guitar Guitar in the UK and follows Newcastle, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

“Birmingham was the next logical choice of location for our expansion,” said Graham Bell, director of Guitar Guitar.

“Calthorpe Estates provided us with the ideal opportunity at 100 Hagley Road – a great space with huge potential. Its prominent position on a main route into the city will offer high visibility.”
