Umeco appoints new director

AEROSPACE supplier Umeco has appointed  Adrian Auer as a new non-executive director and senior independent director. The appointment is with immediate effect.

Mr Auer, who has also become a member of the firm’s audit committee, holds a number of other senior board positions.  He is chairman of Shanks Group and Readymix, non-executive director of Electrocomponents and chairman of the charity Addaction.

He has held the position of finance director in a number of major companies, notably in the building materials and construction sectors, in addition to senior finance positions with BP and ICI.

Neil Johnson, chairman of Umeco, said: “We are delighted that Adrian has agreed to join the board as senior independent director. His breadth of international corporate experience, both in executive and non-executive roles, will be invaluable.”

Until June last year, Mr Auer was a non-executive director at Filtrona.  He was also non-executive director of Foseco until April 2008, Hiscox until December 2006 and Bespak until April 2006.
