Duckers & Diving: On the Piste!

Returning for the New Year, gossip columnist and debonair man-about-town John Duckers takes to the snowy slopes for his latest look at the lighter side of Birmingham’s professional services community.

I hear that Birmingham web pioneer Chris Tomlinson is back doing his winter chalet maid bit.

The ski lover, and husband of Headline Communication’s Dawn Roberts, has this posh bolt hole at Morzine in the French Alps.

And that is where he spends his winters … as you do.

Rents it out – well a bit of skivvying is a small price to pay for being able to play on the slopes during the season.

Quite a few of the Birmingham ‘glitterati’ packed into it last year – it is five bedrooms and will sleep 10.

And in the ‘about the owner section’ our hero offers his listings thus:

Name: Chris Tomlinson – frustrated ski bum!

Status: Married.

Summer Location: Birmingham.

And ‘why the owner chose a guest house in this location’? “Love the Alps!”

B&B or half-board available.

Now I can just see Tomlinson in a pinny.

Presumably the only downside is housemaid’s knee from all that scrubbing floors.

A small price to pay.
