Free tickets to Goodwood Festival of Speed

THE West Midlands automotive industry will be showcasing its mechanical mastery at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week.

A host of new or rare vehicles from Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, MG & Mini with be either on display or running the famous Goodwood hill climb.
 
Birmingham-based tyre manufacturer Dunlop is hosting the celebrity stage.

Dunlop’s communications manager James Bailey said: “Our stage has always proven popular with the crowds, and with previous headliners such as Mark Webber, Sir Stirling Moss, Lewis Hamilton, Derek Bell and even NASCAR legend Richard Petty it’s easy to understand why. This year will be no exception, and the celebrity line-up of Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship drivers for our ‘meet the stars’ Q&A session will be revealed at the event.
 
“For bike enthusiasts we will have on display the 2010 Isle of Man TT – Superbike and Senior TT winning Padgett’s Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, just as champion rider Ian Hutchinson stepped off it a couple of weeks ago, complete with dead flies and its now part-worn Birmingham made Dunlop tyres. Those preferring four wheels for race thrills we’ll be reflecting the unequalled success of Birmingham-made tyres at Le Mans with Aston Martin, BMW and Ferrari contenders from the GT2 category.

This year, prior to the main event, Goodwood is introducing the new ‘Moving Motor Show’ on Thursday 1st July, which offers specially invited guests an exclusive opportunity to preview and in some cases climb aboard and experience vehicles first-hand in an evaluation drive.
