WAA has been named one of the best creative agencies outside of London. The Sutton Coldfield-based agency has been ranked 8th in the annual Recommended Agency Register (RAR) survey. More than 700 agencies were assessed in the survey, placing WAA in the top 1% of the industry. WAA, whose clients include Halfords Autocentres, Warwick Conferences and 3M, is an independent agency delivering integrated marketing and communication solutions to national and global brands.

Andrew Wilson, WAA chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to have been so highly rated in the Top 100 survey. The results highlight that we have a strong and well-respected business which is an important consideration for any client looking to commit their budgets to us.”

Connect builds of client base with Persimmon contract

Connect PR has secured one of its biggest ever account wins. The Wolverhampton-based firm, which is part of the Connect Group, has been appointed by housebuilder Persimmon Group to handle its national and regional PR. The remit covers its main brands Persimmon Homes, Charles Church and Westbury Partnerships.

Connect PR won the business following an initial eight-way pitch and takes over from Golley Slater, which has held the account for the last 14 years. Hazel Crawford-Upton, Connect PR’s managing director, said: “There will be a seven-strong team working on the account, looking after PR for 24 regional offices as well as national PR. The account will involve traditional media relations, social media and video news. It’s a hugely exciting piece of business for the team and we’re looking forward to giving Persimmon Homes a fresh perspective on PR.” Connect’s others clients include Volkswagen passenger cars, Volkswagen Vans, WD-40, Speedy, Bentley Motors and Goodyear Dunlop.
