In brief: Dunlop staff rewarded, ex-Mail editor addresses Chamber

Tyre firm stars rewarded with a visit by the boss

Goodyear Dunlop AwardsTWO  Goodyear Dunlop employees were singled out for praise by global bosses for helping to save the company millions of pounds. Gary Bristow from Wolverhampton and Steve Bradshaw from Birmingham both received surprise visits from Goodyear Dunlop Europe, Middle East and Africa President Arthur de Bok, who thanked them for their contributions to the company. Mr Bristow, a total preventative maintenance specialist who has worked for Goodyear Dunlop for 25 years, created a significant amount of new floor space within the firm’s Wolverhampton factory, saving £100,000 every. Additionally, his efforts helped to reduce the raw materials inventory by £7 million. Mr Bradshaw played a fundamental role in introducing a new integrated SAP, handling all ordering, invoicing and. He also coached scores of the company’s  managers on financial best practice. Steve said: “It’s incredibly flattering to have my work recognised by the top brass!” Goodyear Dunlop’s First with People awards recognise employees who have made an outstanding contribution to the company. Ex-Mail editor to speak on Budget

 Steve DysonEX-BIRMINGHAM Mail editor Steve Dyson is to speak to businesses in the city about the impact the Budget will have on their firms. Mr Dyson, who quit the newspaper at the end of last year, is guest speaker at the Breakfast Connections event being organised by Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Birmingham Forward on July 13. The event, which is open to chamber members, takes place at the Vista Suite at the Crowne Plaza, Birmingham city centre at 7am. Mr Dyson now runs his own media consultancy, Dyson Media, and has worked as a freelance journalist and broadcaster for the BBC, presenting the ‘Hard Talk with Steve Dyson’ interview series on Radio WM.
