Jobs boost at spares specialist

A STAFFORD-based SME is anticipating further growth this year and is hoping to add another 20-30 staff to its existing workforce of around 50.

European Automation is a supply chain specialist selling new, used, refurbished and obsolete industrial automation spares. It is based on Staffordshire Technology Park and is less than three years old.

It received a visit from Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy recently in a bid to promote languages and apprenticeships.

Lefroy emphasized the fact that European Automation’s achievements can be partly credited to its sales team’s ability to communicate with clients in a multitude of foreign languages.

“I have long called for more foreign language teaching in our schools,” Lefroy said.

“I was also pleased to hear that the company has already taken on three apprentices.”
