New chief executive at family-run building firm

A FAMILY-run restoration and building company has appointed a new chief executive.
Sean Wood takes the helm at the Linford Group, which is headquartered in Lichfield and also has offices in Birmingham and Flintshire.
He steps up after eight years as managing director with Linford Group division Faenol Linford, in North Wales, and replaces Simon Linford who has left the business to pursue other avenues.
Mr Wood said: “I am delighted to be part of a company which has built a well deserved reputation for quality in construction and heritage conservation over its 140 years.
“Linford has some of the most highly skilled craftsmen in the world, let alone the country.
“Our joint vision for the future of Linford is to build on this rich heritage and wealth of experience to create a flexible company which is perfectly placed to respond to the future demands in construction.”
David Linford, executive president of Linford Group, added: “Sean and I worked together for nearly 10 years in North Wales and further afield.
“He has a very wide knowledge and experience of the building industry, both practically and professionally.
“I have been extremely fortunate to develop such a long-standing and trusting friendship over the last decade and, this year, to bring him into the full direction and management of our entire group of companies.”
Linford Group is a new-build and restoration main contractor which also has specialist masonry, joinery, architectural metalwork and traditional plastering divisions.
