Hilton Garden Inn completes Brindleyplace rebrand

BIRMINGHAM’S former Mint Hotel has completed its rebranding as a Hilton Garden Inn venue.

The facelift follows the sale of the Mint hotel group last year in an undisclosed deal to US private equity company Blackstone, owner of Hilton.

The hotel is now known as the Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Brindleyplace. In the next few weeks two additional former Mint properties will also join the Hilton Garden Inn portfolio, in Glasgow and Bristol.

Simon Vincent, area president, Europe, Hilton Worldwide, said: “Across Europe our Hilton Garden Inn brand is represented in more than 20 locations in six countries. We are delighted to now be welcoming guests to Hilton Garden Inn in Birmingham, which joins the mid-market brand’s UK hotels open in Aberdeen and Luton.

“In the coming weeks we look forward to new Hilton Garden Inn openings in Glasgow and Bristol, more than doubling the number of Hilton Garden Inn hotels in the UK.”

The 238-room Brindleyplace venue features a newly refurbished fitness centre plus meeting space for up to 120 people in its six conference rooms.

Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham BrindleyplaceStephen Cresswell, general manager of the new-look hotel, said: “The hotel is well-established in a superb city centre location and we are delighted to be part of the Hilton Garden Inn portfolio.  With key improvements to facilities and services, we are significantly enhancing our offering and looking forward to welcoming business and leisure guests to the hotel.”

Recent Mint hotel conversion additions include DoubleTree by Hilton properties in London (two), Manchester, Leeds and Amsterdam.

Hilton Worldwide features more than 100 hotels in its UK portfolio across multiple brands including: luxury Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts; upscale and full-service Hilton Hotels & Resorts and DoubleTree by Hilton; mid-market Hilton Garden Inn and economy Hampton by Hilton.
