Worcestershire LEP to set out its priorities

MORE than 150 business people have signed up to attend Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s inaugural conference

It is being held on Thursday at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium.

The free-to-attend event will see Worcestershire LEP executives provide a review of first year progress and set out priorities and actions for the year ahead and beyond.

Speakers will feed back on how the new partnership can help shape opportunities to support local projects and initiatives to attract new investment in local businesses, people and infrastructure to benefit Worcestershire’s economy.

Worcestershire LEP chair Peter Pawsey will lead diverse business contributions ranging from entrepreneurialism and apprenticeship schemes to young people mentoring and international trade opportunities in the global market place.

Cecil Duckworth, the founder of Worcester Bosch, will give a keynote address on the 50th anniversary of starting the Worcester Engineering company.

Pawsey said: “This will be a major opportunity for businesses across Worcestershire to get involved and find out what the partnership has been working on over the past year, as well as taking away useful information on a variety of key issues that have a direct bearing on our future economic success.”
