Coffee machine maker doubles in size to meet demand

A BIRMINGHAM coffee machine manufacturer has completed its expansion by moving into new purpose-built facilities so it can meet demand for its products.

The £250,000 expansion has doubled the size of the business, which is the UK’s only manufacturer of cappuccino and espresso machines.

The expansion saw the company purchase an additional 24,000 sq ft of workshop and office space – bringing the total workspace to 45,000 sq ft.

Located next door to Fracino’s former factory in Aston, the new factory houses the firm’s new sheet metal and form bending machines.

The extra space has given the capacity and production facilities it needed to meet the increasing demand for its espresso and cappuccino machines.

The business now intends to grow its 60 plus product portfolio, while the extra space will allow it to hold more stock and provide customers with more flexibility.

The former factory has been converted into a new servicing department and showroom, and the site also houses a dedicated production line for its domestic machine, the Piccino.

The company has also had to expand its workforce, which has doubled in size during the last three years. The firm now employs more than 40 people.

John Cook, sales and marketing executive at Fracino, said: “The move is a momentous milestone in our development and it is exciting and inspiring to be in our new home, with plenty of room for expansion. The extra space and improved facilities will enable us to increase production even further as we drive sales of Fracino machines to the next level.”
