New role for former West Brom chief

FORMER West Bromwich Building Society chief executive Andrew Messenger has been appointed to a new role.

Mr Messenger, who retired from the building society in 2006, is a new Business Development Advisor to independent financial services and wealth management provider, Henwood Court.

Since retirement, Mr Messenger, who witnessed nine consecutive years of growth at the mutual, has been sharing his professional experiences with several organisations including a non-executive role as Governor of Birmingham City University.

In his new role at Sutton Coldfield-based Henwood Court he will use his knowledge to help drive new business by helping the company secure new clients. He will also help the company maintain its growth plan.

Henwood Court provides wealth management advice to financially successful people who lack the time or expertise to manage their own affairs and need the assistance of an adviser in areas such as savings and Inheritance Tax liabilities.

Mr Messenger said: “I am delighted to have been invited by Henwood Court to assist them with their business development. This promises to be yet another highly exciting challenge and I’m eager that this excellent company continues to build on what is a very sound, trustworthy and reliable business.”

Nick Platt, Financial Planner and Director, Henwood Court Financial Planning, added: “Andrew Messenger is a giant in the financial services world and we are truly privileged to have him working with us. His achievements at West Bromwich Building Society were immense.

“We know he will help us build on our solid foundations and take our business onto a new level providing even more opportunities for our clients and potential clients.”
