Six degrees to add 25 to its workforce

SIX Degrees Group, a provider of managed data and cloud services, is recruiting 25 employees at its technical headquarters in Studley, doubling the number of staff based at the facility.

In addition to several technical positions, the new jobs created by Six Degrees include administration, finance, and security.

Six Degrees Group launched just four months ago after raising £60m in venture capital funding. Since then it has acquired five companies, including local data centre player UKSolutions.

The company’s two data centres in Studley have become the home of technical operations and services for Six Degrees Group, addressing growing demand from mid-sized businesses for cloud services. As part of the recent investment, the company has added a further 450 square metres of high specification data centre space to accommodate customer numbers and improve resilience.

Daniel Lowe, managing director of the firm’s managed data services division, said: “Six Degrees Group Studley is the centre of operations for our fast-growing company and our employee numbers are set to increase. We have recently made award-winning efficiency improvements to our data centres, which are built to the highest levels of resilience. We will continue to invest in our data centre assets.”

In addition to its extensive technology investment, Six Degrees Group is also investing in core infrastructure including office renovation, new training facilities and car park expansion.

The target customer base for Six Degrees Group is mid-market corporates, which typically employ between 50 and 1,000 staff.
