Forresters expands into Germany

INTELLECTUAL property firm Forresters has opened a branch in Munich.

This new opening comes just six months after Forresters – founded and based in Birmingham – opened an office in Merseyside, marking a period of rapid expansion for the firm.

The Munich office is headed up by partner Matt Barton and is located within walking distance of the European Patent Office, which handles applications for patents in up to 40 European countries.

Barton said: “Munich is one of Europe’s main locations for innovations in business and industry, and has strong links to the UK and the Midlands. Our new office will enable us to assist clients, both in Germany and at home, to protect their products, brands and trademarks.”

Matthew Shaw, patent attorney and partner at the Birmingham Forresters office, said: “The new office will help us to forge strong links with both the German business community, and British companies looking to trade in mainland Europe. It’s an exciting opportunity which will allow us to expand further in the future.”
