Curry Club bhajis into Shropshire

AN Indian food-linked business networking group aimed at construction, property and finance professionals in Shropshire is to be launched next month.
The inaugural meeting of Networking In The City’s (NITC) monthly Curry Club will take place at the Panacea restaurant in Shrewsbury town centre on Wednesday May 9.
Curry Club, which celebrated its 33rd birthday last week, was originally established in Manchester as a property and finance networking event. MD Steve Kettle, who took over six years ago, is now rolling out the format nationwide.
He said: “We saw a niche to make Curry Club a national, industry-specific network for construction, property and finance professionals. Its successful launch and on-going success in Manchester has led to the expansion of the business model across the UK, with Shropshire now on the list.
“Each event is held in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, at a prestigious curry house or restaurant, where attendees meet key decision makers including financiers, surveyors, lawyers, architects, developers and contractors, to name just a few.”
ESI Ltd, a Shrewsbury based, environmental consultancy, has agreed to sponsor the Shropshire Curry Club.
Andrew Singleton, land group director at ESI, said: “It is a unique and proven idea where professionals can develop property related contacts in an informal environment and I believe the only one of its kind in the county.”
