Island Delight sees pattie volumes rise 190%

A BIRMINGHAM-based food company has seen volumes of its products increase 190% since agreeing a new distribution scheme.
Cleone Foods, run by entrepreneur Wade Lyn, appointed Oakland International to look after the storing, picking and distribution of its Island Delight patties.
Mr Lyn, managing director of Cleone Foods, said: “Oakland International have been an ideal local partner for Cleone Foods. We’ve enjoyed our business together in what is the highly time critical operation within the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) market place. We look forward to growing further with Oakland International overseas in the future.”
Paul Ziolek, operations director at Oakland, said: “Cleone Foods Island Delight patties are a real organic growth success story, with Oakland now storing, picking and distributing all patties to UK Retailers allowing Cleone Foods to focus on core business and drive sales.”
Cleone Foods produces more than 100,000 Island Delight patties every week after which the products are distributed to retailers around the UK. Oakland is responsible for storing, picking and distributing the patties via chilled consolidation pallets to retailer depots.
“It’s a delight to be working with Cleone Foods and to see them develop their business model. Distributing as we do to all UK and Irish retailers, we are excited to support Cleone’s fresh business vision and growth within this extensive retail arena,” added Mr Ziolek.
Island Delight patties are produced in nine different varieties and account for 55% of the UK pattie market.
