Bolt can rest easy with Bean2Bed

THE world’s fastest man is guaranteed the perfect preparation for the London 2012 Olympics thanks to the Jamaica team’s pre-Games training partnership with a Birmingham business.
Jamaica has struck a deal with Bean2Bed through Birmingham City Council to kit out the team’s facilities with its bean bags at the Jamaica track and field training camp in Birmingham.
Bean2Bed is official supplier to the USA team as well, which has also chosen Birmingham as the location for its pre-Olympics preparation.
The company – established in 2005 by two Aston University graduates, Matt Roberts and Max Game – designs, manufactures and retails bean bags with guest beds inside.
The design team is creating bespoke embroidered and printed covers for both the Jamaican and USA athletes. Game said: “We’re delighted that the world’s elite athletes will get to enjoy the world’s cleverest bean bags.”
The contract stemmed from a chance meeting in a framing shop in the Jewellery Quarter. Gary Peal, training camp co-ordinator for Birmingham City Council, said: “We were delighted when we discovered Bean2Bed. A local business with an innovative British-made product, designed in Birmingham.
“I’m sure the athletes will love the Bean2Beds and it’ll help them relax and unwind after a hard day’s training.”
