Bath Empire boss up for entrepreneur award

A COVENTRY-based bathroom entrepreneur will be hoping to clean up at an awards ceremony.

Chris Li, founder of Luxury for Less and Bath Empire, has been named as one of three finalists in the Federation of Small Businesses Real Life Entrepreneur Awards.

The awards recognise entrepreneurial talent and business success amongst SMEs in the region and will take place on Friday July 13 at the Scarman House Conference Centre in Warwick University.

Luxury for Less – shortlisted in the Newcomer category in this year’s TheBusinessDesk.com West Midlands Business Masters awards – was launched in 2006 and specialises in bathroom equipment, furniture and accessories, supplying direct to the public via its website.

The company employs 65 staff and has a turnover approaching £14m. It relocated to Coventry from the south coast in 2008, in a strategic move to take advantage of the area’s superior transport links.

Since its relocation the company has branched out into other product areas and markets. It launched trade brand Kirby Sebastian in 2011, and has already signed up more than 300 shops and merchants in the Midlands area alone.

Li said: “It’s a privilege and a pleasure to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards, which recognise the hard work and dedication that entrepreneurs like me make towards ensuring that their business is a success.”
