Cab Automotive addresses trade summit after export success

THE managing director of a Black Country automotive supplier has spoken about his firm’s export success at a major trade summit in London.

John Faulkner, head of Sedgley-based Cab Automotive, was invited to address the meeting, at the British Business Embassy in Lancaster House, due to his firm’s outstanding international trade record.

The event, supported by UK Trade and Investment and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, also featured presentations from Schaeffler and Calsonic Kansei.

Mr Faulkner focused on the firm’s record during the last four years and how it has coped with the onset of recession.

He plotted the progress of the company and explained how a revised business strategy helped to secure a much wider customer base which in turn, significantly increased turnover.

UKTI hopes the case study will prove an example to other firms looking to grow their exports.

Taking advantage of the increased number of people in London during the Olympics, the summit attracted many key industry figures and was supported by senior UK Government representatives.

Mr Faulkner said: “This is a great honour for Cab Automotive; to be singled out from amongst some of the biggest names in UK manufacturing is superb.

“The opportunity to represent UK plc in front of key figures from world Manufacturing does not come often. We have all played our part in portraying a positive image of the diversity and capability of UK engineering and manufacturing.”
