Commercial property agencies merge to form new chartered surveyors

TWO leading independent Worcestershire commercial property consultancies have merged to form a new firm of chartered surveyors.

Worcester-based Guise Jones Sawyer and Bromsgrove firm JP Dillon have merged into the new partnership of GJS Dillon LLP.  The principals of Guise Jones Sawyer and JP Dillon, respectively Philip Jones and John Dillon, both become partners in the new, five-strong firm.

From its established offices in Worcester and Bromsgrove, GJS Dillon will serve clients throughout north and south Worcestershire, and beyond, covering all commercial property agency, acquisition consultancy, management, valuation and other disciplines.

Mr Dillon said: “With JP Dillon best known for its industrial and office agency and Guise Jones Sawyer’s focus on consultancy and professional surveying work, our new firm will provide an improved service for all its existing and prospective clients.”

Mr Jones said: “John and I have known each other for a number of years, with great mutual respect as to how each other operates, and with the same emphasis on providing excellent principal led client service, so we are both very excited about the prospects for our new firm.”

Guise Jones Sawyer has been led by Mr Jones, himself a chartered surveyor, for the past 15 years. It manages a large portfolio of properties across the UK, and provides consultancy, acquisition, valuation and general property advice to its clients which include public companies, industrial concerns and public and education sector organisations, such as The University of Worcester for which it has made a number of key property acquisitions to help further its expansion.

Mr Jones is also Surveyor to The King’s School, Worcester, Honorary Surveyor to a number of charities and arts organisations, and property advisor to Worcester Consolidated Charities, the 500 year old city charity which has a property portfolio valued in excess of £10m.

JP Dillon Commercial Property Consultants was founded by Mr Dillon, a former director and Head of Office Agency at Lambert Smith Hampton in Birmingham.

Earlier this year JP Dillon completed the largest office letting in Worcestershire for five years, with the disposal of more than 14,000 sq ft of office space at Avon House in Bromsgrove. In the past 12 months it has agreed terms for the disposal of two major town centre regeneration sites for Bromsgrove District Council and has acquired new premises totalling more than 40,000 sq ft for local organisations, most recently in July with a 10,000 sq ft unit at Great Western Business Park, Worcester for new manufacturing company, Delta Cam International.
