Tentec targets German growth with new appointment
WEST Bromwich engineering group Tentec has appointed a new Business Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The bolt tightening specialist has recruited Hannelore Khwaja for the post in a move designed to improve penetration into these key European territories, especially in the energy markets.
Tentec designs, manufactures and markets bolt tightening equipment. It has a number of major blue chip clients including Alstom Power, BP. Exxon Chemicals and Rolls-Royce.
Khwaja, who is based in Germany, will be responsible for the further development of sales of Tentec’s bolt tightening equipment and custom-designed engineering products, with particular emphasis on the power generation and wind industries.
She brings to her new role many years’ experience working in these industries both in technical sales and service.

CDI appoints new commercial manager to focus of export growth
DATA network, cabling and communications specialist CDI Group has announced the appointment of Malcolm Howes as Commercial Manager.
Mr Howes joins CDI with over 36 years’ experience in data communication and sales having previously worked as a freelance consultant and at BT for nearly 10 years.
In his new role he will be responsible for further supporting Birmingham-based CDI’s ambitious growth plans and will be actively looking to expand its portfolio of clients.
The company, which was established 25 years ago, specialises in the implementation of network and communication infrastructures and services clients in the UK, Europe and across the world. It also has a strong CCTV division which was further strengthened by the acquisition of security company, Discovery Cabling Solutions Ltd, earlier this year.
Chris Arkwell, Managing Director at CDI, said: “We are celebrating 25 years in business this year which is an enormous achievement and one which we’re very proud of. We have a very experienced and knowledgeable team and I’m confident Malcolm will add significantly to this.”
Security entrepreneur to speak at IAB silver jubilee event
INTERNATIONAL entrepreneur and CEO of Octavian Security, Sukhi Ghuman is to be the chief guest speaker at the Institute of Asian Businesses (IAB) 25th anniversary dinner and awards.
Sukhi Ghuman was born in November 1977 in Leicester to a Sikh family. Suffering family financial issues in his early years, Sukhi is now worth £7m and credits his success to the grit and determination he acquired from his grandmother.
Having graduated from Nottingham Trent University with LLB Honours in 1999, Sukhi completed the legal practice course at De Montfort University and began his career as a trainee lawyer with regional firm, Brethertons Solicitors. After qualifying as a lawyer, he then moved to City law firm, Nabarro Nathanson, where he handled major corporate accounts.
In 2003, he started the security business, Octavian, of which he is now CEO, and it is the first security firm to employ ex-Ghurkas.
This year, Sukhi set up Octavian Pharma, a new entity aimed at procuring and distributing pharmaceutical and cosmetic products throughout North America.
The IAB silver jubilee event will include four awards, business/business person of the year, outstanding contribution to society, young entrepreneur of the year and international business of the year. A charity prize draw will also take place in aid of Cure Leukaemia.
The event takes place on November 17 at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
Compering the event will be actor and comedian, Kulvinder Ghir, star of popular TV show ‘Goodness Gracious Me’ and the hit film ‘Bend it Like Beckham’.
